Meet the Director

Mrs. Shelley Putnam Ed.S., CALT, LDT, NBCT

Shelley Putnam, a retired public school educator with a heart for students with dyslexia, has served as an elementary school special education teacher, middle school science teacher. high school chemistry teacher and MTSS Chairperson. She served as a 5th-grade teacher and dyslexia therapist at The 3-D School in Petal, MS (2024-2025).  Shelley has worked with National Board Teacher Candidates as a Professional Learning Facilitator with The World Class Teacher Program housed at The University of Southern Mississippi and has served as a teacher consultant for The South Mississippi Writing Project. Shelley is an alumnus of Mississippi’s Teach Plus organization, an advocacy group for education. Our school desires to provide an educational model that can be replicated by others to meet the needs of students with dyslexia as we highlight their strengths.

Shelley graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a BA in Biology. She holds a Master of Education in both Mild and Moderate Disabilities and Dyslexia Therapy, as well as a Specialist of Education in Educational Leadership from William Carey University.  Shelley is a National Board Certified Teacher and a Certified Academic Language Therapist.

Meet Optima AI

Virtual Reality Social Studies

We are excited to take part in a pilot-year with Optima AI. Students will meet for Social Studies in their Virtual Reality Setting. The certified teacher will facilitate an immersive experience each class day.
